About Bingham, Maine

Though maintaining a population of less than 1,000, Bingham is a regional commercial and employment center for northern Somerset County. The town consists of 35 square miles of primarily forested land. The town is located along U.S. 201, 23 miles north of Skowhegan. The downtown is located along 201 and runs with the Kennebec River.

Things to see and do in the Bingham Area include:

Fishing, ATV trail riding, snowmobile trails, hiking, fall foliage, kayaking, river rafting and bird watching (Osprey's are common around the Kennebec River). The boat landing is located at the end of Lander Avenue, off Route 201. Neighboring towns also offer Baker Mountain Ski Area, Wyman Lake swimming and boating area, The Benedict Arnold Trail, and Houston Brooke Falls.

  • Moose Alley Riders ATV Club

    Moose Alley Riders ATV Club holds meetings on the 2nd Thursday of each month from April through November at 7 p.m. and conducts ATV rides departing from the Bingham Trailhead. See their Facebook page for more information.

  • Valley Riders Snowmobile Club

    Valley Riders Snowmobile Club holds its monthly meeting on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7pm. See their Facebook page for more information.

  • Baker Mountain Ski Area

    Baker Mountain Ski Area is 501©3 non-profit organization that is operated all volunteers. The Mountain offers 3 beginner runs and 2 intermediate trails. They offer free ski/board lessons by appointment.

    Lift tickets are $15 for the day or night and rentals only $14.

    Hours of Operation:
    Saturday 11-4 and Sunday 11-4 as well as some Saturdays 4:30-8:30.

  • Bingham Union Library

    Bingham Union Library is located at 297 Main Street.

    Library hours are:
    Tuesday 12:30-7pm
    Wednesday 12:30-5:30pm.

    The Library Board meets the second Tuesday of the month at 3:30 p.m.

    The library has 3 public access computers and wireless internet. Interlibrary loans are available.

    A Knitting Group meets on Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

    Old Canada Road Historical Society is located at 16 Sidney Street.

Veteran's Memorial

Veteran's Memorial is located on Main Street at the Bingham Union Library and honors those who fought in World War II, Vietnam, Korea and the Persian Gulf.
