The Town of Bingham is in the process of updating their Comprehensive Plan in collaboration with the Kennebec Valley Council of Governments. The town’s previous plan was completed in 2000, and to be eligible for any grants or other benefits through the state, an update is required. The Planning Board has been acting as the Comprehensive Plan Committee. So far, they have reviewed, edited, and approved approximately six chapters of the Comprehensive Plan. These chapters will be posted on this website over the period of the next few weeks for the public to review. There will be a public participation event to garner public input. Details of this event will be posted on the town’s website and on the Facebook page.

Comp. Plan What and Why
A Comprehensive Plan is a guide for the future for the town. It is not an ordinance or a set of rules, it is instead a guide for the town government to move in the direction residents want. It provides a map indicating the direction in which the town wishes to proceed in over the next 10 years, while providing a “snapshot in time” of the town’s current status. Please review this document for information. Why create a Comprehensive Plan?
